Treat Yourself! You Are Worth It!

We all live stressful lives. Stress can come from many places: relationships, work, or even, daily living. While stress is expected, it is important to find ways to offload that stress and find ways to cope so that we can be our shiny, happy selves. In my opinion there is no better way to reduce stress than to do something nice for yourself.

My suggestion…

Treat-yourself-Tuesday. While you can treat yourself at any day of the week it is nice to have at least a weekly reminder that you are worth it and that you need to check in with your emotional needs! I know that it sounds a little cheesy, but cheese is delicious so shut up.

There are many ways that one can treat themselves and sometimes how to treat yourself will vary depending on stress levels. However, treating yourself can be something simple, effortless and does not even need to cost any money. Things like calling your best friend that you have been meaning to get in touch with, surprise lunchtime walk outside, deluxe latte, those shoes (you know the ones), spin class, or drinks with a coworker you have been meaning to get a drink with for like years are all ways to say, “you know, today I am making an effort for myself.”

While these are all ways of coping with the realities of life, recognizing and acknowledging the stresses in your life that you may not be able to change is also important for your mental wellbeing. As we know all too well, some days just suck. We will get through this together!

You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work!
