Powder Sunscreen: Two Birds, One Stone

This is my final line of defense in my fight against solar rays. I currently use a product called Brush on Block, which is a zinc and titanium powder sunscreen. I do have to admit that mostly I picked it because it was on Amazon; it was reasonably priced; and it had refillable cartridges available. With that said I have used this for two years, and I have been very happy with it.

I use powder sunscreen more as a supplement or emergency sunscreen. For those days when— surprise!— I find myself out in direct rays and I did not put sun screen on my arms, or when I just want some added protection for my face. Similar to other mineral or barrier type sunscreens it can be slightly visible on darker skin types but for the most part is sheer.

The packaging is great as it is all combined into one package and is self-contained. The cartridge connects to the back of the brush with a small twist. The powder comes out through the brush by just brushing it on the skin. The cartridge lasts me about a year with pretty regular use.

Perks:

  1. Small packaging is light and easier to carry than a bottle of sun screen
  2. Cuts down on shine, especially on those hot days
  3. Barrier type sun screen does not have to be reapplied
